Banff Castle for the COAST craft fair on 29th/30th May 2010, 10 until 4pm on both days.

Portsoy Boat Festival Craft Fair, Town Hall, Portsoy, on the 26th/27th June 2010.

Cullen Craft Fair, Town Hall on 3rd/4th July 2010, 10 until 4pm on both days.

Pennan Craft Fair, Village Hall, on 10th/11th July, 11am to 5pm.

Speyfest Craft Fair, at Fochabers, on 31st July 2010, 10 until 4pm.

NEOS at Banff Castle, 11th - 20th September (Paintings only)

The next polymer clay workshop will be in 2010, the date is yet to be decided.

It will cost £25 per person + £7.50 for basic materials. This includes tea or coffee and a scone. Further materials and tools will be available for purchase on the day. There will be a maximum of 15 participants.

I have yet to confirm where the venue will be for the workshop, but it will be either Banff Castle, Banff or Delgatie Castle, near Turriff, Aberdeenshire.

We had another great polymer clay workshop on 26 September 2009. We had a lot of fun making little dragons!

We had an very successful workshop on 16 May 2009 covering simple caning techniques, creating leaf and flower canes.

I have plans to provide further workshops on the following techniques:

• Basic techniques - creating simple blends of colours in sheets of clay, texturing clay, and using inclusions to vary texture.
• Simple Caning - as the title suggests, this workshop will aim to teach students how to produce simple canes, such as spiral, flower and leaf canes.
• Complex Caning - this workshop will move on to more complicated caning techniques.
• Mokume Gane - This workshop will explore the various methods of producing polymer clay objects using a technique that was inspired by the folded metal process called mokume gane, used in the production of japanese swords.
